WHO WE ARE
Where Beirut Meets the Sea
Established in 2004, Beirut Waterfront Development S.A.L. was created as a landmark joint venture between Solidere and Stow Waterfront Development, with a shared vision to transform Beirut’s coastline into a world-class waterfront destination. Combining Solidere’s urban planning expertise with Stow’s international experience in waterfront development and construction, the project introduced a contemporary mixed-use destination that reflects the city’s modern identity and strong connection to the Mediterranean.
Beirut Waterfront Development S.A.L. is a landmark mixed-use destination that embodies Beirut’s cosmopolitan spirit and Mediterranean charm. Stretching along the city’s iconic coastline, the development brings together high-end residences, refined dining and entertainment venues, and premium retail boutiques, all set along a vibrant waterfront promenade. At the heart of the destination lies a sophisticated marina, offering a lifestyle deeply connected to the sea. Thoughtfully designed landscapes, pedestrian-friendly walkways, and state-of-the-art infrastructure create a seamless balance between urban vibrancy and coastal tranquility.
Over the years, the development has introduced some of Beirut’s most recognized waterfront destinations, including Zaitunay Bay, which officially opened in 2009, and Le Yacht Club – Beirut, which opened its doors in 2014 as an exclusive private members’ club offering refined hospitality and five-star services. Together, these destinations have contributed to positioning Beirut Waterfront Development S.A.L. as a symbol of luxury, leisure, and contemporary living, elevating Beirut’s status as a leading regional destination for lifestyle, tourism, and waterfront experiences.
THE DESIGN ARCHITECT
Visionary Design
The design architect behind both Zaitunay Bay and Le Yacht – Club Beirut is the internationally renowned American architect Steven Holl, through his firm Steven Holl Architects.
He led the conceptual design of the entire Beirut Marina development, including the waterfront promenade, marina platforms, and LeYacht Club – Beirut. The project is characterized by its signature “urban beach” concept—layered, horizontal planes inspired by the sea and the natural shoreline
